Everything merchants ask us about Craftline — setup, automation, billing, and data.
Getting started
What does this app actually do?
It shows your customers a branded production-progress timeline — on the Thank You page right after checkout, and on the Order Status page — so they can see exactly what stage their handmade or made-to-order item is at, instead of emailing you to ask.
Will it change my theme or checkout?
It adds a Checkout UI Extension block to the Thank You and Order Status pages — no theme edits, no checkout.liquid, nothing to touch on your storefront. It's built on Shopify's current Checkout Extensibility, available on every plan.
How does the app know which stages an order goes through?
You create stage templates in the app and bind each one to a product tag. When an order comes in, Craftline automatically matches it to the right template based on the tags on the products in that order — no manual status-setting.
What if an order has products from two different templates?
The template with the higher priority wins. Set priority per template in the template builder.
Stages & automation
How do orders move from one stage to the next?
Three ways: automatically after N days you set per stage, manually with a button in the app, or via an authorized API call from an external system like Zapier or Make.
Does "Shipped" happen automatically?
Yes — as soon as Shopify fires its native fulfillment webhook, the order advances to whichever stage you've marked as your template's "Shipped" stage.
What about "Delivered"?
Shopify doesn't expose reliable delivery tracking, so Craftline uses a simple rule: mark a stage to auto-advance a set number of days after shipping.
What's the "needs clarification" flag?
A flag you can put on top of any stage when you need more info from a customer — it emails them automatically with your reason, and the order stays put until you clear the flag, at which point it resumes exactly where it left off.
Billing
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days, no charge until it ends.
How much does it cost after the trial?
One flat rate: $25/month for unlimited orders, stage templates, and team members. No per-seat pricing.
Data & privacy
Do you store my customers' personal data?
No. Craftline stores order IDs and stage progress, never customer names, emails, or addresses. A customer's email is fetched live from Shopify only at the moment a stage-change notification is sent, and is never written to our database.
